The British rock band will make a long-awaited return to Australia next year, presenting 16 performances across three major cities—their first visit to the country in 15 years.
On Monday, Radiohead revealed the comprehensive itinerary for their highly anticipated May 2027 tour, which also encompasses five dates in Japan.
The tour will commence at Perth’s RAC Arena on May 3, featuring four consecutive nights. The itinerary will then proceed to six shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena and Sydney’s Afterpay Arena.
The group previously toured Australia in the wake of their 2011 album, The King of Limbs. However, frontman Thom Yorke did visit the country for solo performances in 2024, during which he briefly left the stage at a Melbourne show after being confronted by a pro-Palestine protester. He returned minutes later to conclude the evening with their 1997 hit, Karma Police.
The upcoming Australian and Asian dates follow the band’s reunion last year, which marked their first performances together in seven years across several European cities.
This tour will also mark Radiohead’s first visit to Japan in nearly two decades, with five concerts scheduled at the GMO Arena Saitama near Tokyo.
Although the band has not released a studio album since 2016’s A Moon Shaped Pool, the lack of new material has done nothing to diminish fan enthusiasm, as evidenced by the overwhelming demand when the shows were announced.
Radiohead originally toured Australia in 1994 following the release of their debut album, Pablo Honey, which featured their breakout single, Creep.
Fans eager to attend the Australian dates can register their interest through an online portal managed by co-promoter Frontier Touring, which launched on Monday evening. The registration system will utilize a ballot-style process designed to “ensure fair access to tickets and prevent automated or unauthorized purchases.”
To maintain fairness, tickets are strictly limited to a maximum of four per city for each registrant.
The official website clarified that “there is no advantage to registering early, as all completed registrations received before the deadline will be treated equally.”
The registration period closes on Thursday at 5:00 PM AEST. Those selected will receive an email with further instructions on Friday, granting them access to purchase tickets the following week.
