Remi Wolf recently shared insights into her creative journey while preparing for the October 9 release of her new album, Mud, via Island Records. Reflecting on the album’s development, Wolf described her emotional state prior to recording: “I literally felt like I was covered in shit. And now, at the end of the album process, I feel so clean and clear.” The album’s visual elements, including its cover art and the accompanying video for the opening track “Bottle,” offer a glimpse into her evolving artistic identity, blending introspective themes with vibrant sonic landscapes.
In addition to Mud, Wolf has been actively sharing new music. Her latest single, “Twiggy,” arrived last month, marking her first release in two years since Big Ideas. The track was debuted during an unexpected appearance at the Newport Folk Festival, where Wolf collaborated with Hayley Williams. She described the song as a commentary on relationships characterized by a lack of both physical and emotional connection, stating, “I wrote ‘Twiggy’ about people I’ve been with that lack both butts and emotional availability.”
