Rybakina, 27, dropped just four points on serve in a near-flawless performance against four-time Grand Slam champion Osaka, who revealed after the match that she had been battling leg pain.
Facing the 28-year-old, who had not dropped a set in her opening three matches, Rybakina took control early with a dominant first set.
The reigning Australian Open champion opened up a double-break advantage and sealed the opening set in just 21 minutes.
Osaka showed greater resistance early in the second set but, after failing to convert her only break point, Rybakina quickly regained control.
She broke to go 4-3 up and safely closed out the remaining games, as Osaka proved unable to deal with her opponent’s deep groundstrokes.
Rybakina sealed the match in under 66 minutes, hitting seven aces and 29 winners to Osaka’s nine.
Asked about the nearly six-year gap since her last major victory at the 2021 Australian Open, Osaka said: “I thought about it, and if I win another Grand Slam, it’s not going to change my life. That’s kind of crazy that I can say that, because I remember the first Slam that I won, it was, like, a huge whirlwind.”
