Serena and Venus Williams have received wildcards to compete in the doubles draw at Wimbledon this month.

Serena, 44, made her comeback to competitive tennis last week alongside 19‑year‑old Victoria Mboko. They secured a victory in their opening match before Mboko withdrew due to a knee injury sustained in her singles match.

Serena will also participate in the Berlin Open this week, partnering with Karolina Muchova, with their first match scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday.

Prior to this, Serena had not competed since the 2022 U.S. Open, when she announced she was transitioning away from tennis to focus on raising her daughters, Olympia and Adira.

Venus, who continues to play intermittently, will turn 46 on Wednesday.

The sisters have captured 14 Grand Slam doubles titles, six of which were won at Wimbledon, with their inaugural title in 2000 and their most recent in 2016. Their first two Wimbledon doubles championships, in 2000 and 2002, were earned as wildcards.

Wimbledon is scheduled to run from June 29 to July 12.
