San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans exited Sunday’s contest during the second half.
Evans was ruled questionable to return due to a hip injury and ultimately did not make an appearance in the remainder of the game.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan explained that Evans’ departure was a precautionary move and that he would have been able to return had the circumstances been different. The 49ers held a 35-6 advantage at the time of the substitution and went on to secure a 35-13 victory.
“No, it didn’t [look serious],” Shanahan said after the game, via Nick Wagoner of ESPN. “It can always change tomorrow, but if the game was different, he would’ve been able to come back in.”
Wide receiver Demarcus Robinson and defensive tackle James Thompson Jr. are both dealing with high-ankle sprains, according to Shanahan.
