Skoop Media Unveils Dutch Noir – A New Benchmark for Global Crime Television
Dutch international distributor Skoop Media has unveiled a new crime label named Dutch Noir.
Bowing at Mipcom, the brand presents an international offering dedicated to premium Dutch crime productions, ranging from organized‑crime drama to psychological thrillers, urban investigations and heist series.
The inaugural programme selection comprises seventeen titles sourced from six production houses, highlighted by four new Videoland Original series.
“Viewing itself as one of Europe’s largest local streaming platforms, Videoland wields the freedom to take creative risks and define crime drama in a distinctive way,” said Steven van Roosmalen, Head of Scripted.
“The label champions raw, unfiltered narratives anchored in contemporary Dutch society while still tapping universal themes—an approach that perfectly captures why Dutch crime series resonate worldwide.”
Mcro Maffia has evolved over six seasons and multiple spin‑offs into a comprehensive crime universe, currently licensed across Germany, France, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Belgium, Latin America and Japan.
“Markets seek the next defining Mocro Maffia; Dutch Noir delivers exactly what buyers want,” asserted Pim van Collem, CEO of Snoop Media.
“This slate offers considerable scope, impressive scale and a fearless tone, remaining grounded in the real‑world dynamics of the Dutch drug trade.”
The Mipcom showcase leads with Videoland Original “Narcostad,” created by Mcro Maffia lead actor Nasrdin Dchar.
The series chronicles teenagers drawn into Rotterdam’s drug market and will premiere together with three additional Videoland Originals—the second season of the “Mocro Maffia” spin‑off “Tonnano,” the concluding fourth season of “Sleepers,” and the compact heist thriller “Rippers.”
All four programmes are produced by Amsterdam‑based Fiction Valley.
Skoop Media contends that audiences are far from fatigued by crime—rather, they crave fresh, bold narratives defined by character intensity and gritty realism. The existing global fanbase combined with the proven track record of six seasons of “Mocro Maffia” in Europe, Latin America and Asia proves that Dutch Noir storytelling effortlessly crosses borders.
“The label intends to set the standard for the finest Dutch crime series available today.”
“True to its roots in a modest nation that extends well beyond serving solely as a backdrop for crime tales—it is the heartland where much of Europe’s underworld originates.”
