Online platform StockX reports a 209% year-over-year surge in Vans trainer sales, coinciding with Sofia Richie’s public endorsement of the nostalgic style. The fashion icon was spotted wearing Vans checkerboard slip-ons during an outing in Los Angeles, reigniting interest in the trend that dominated early 2010s fashion. Rachel Makar, StockX’s Senior Director of Merchandising, highlighted the spike: “Sales are up over 200% year-on-year, resale prices have increased by 73%, and Vans is now among our platform’s top 15 most-searched brands in 2026.”

The iconic trainer, once a defining piece of its era, offers modern comfort and versatility. Richie paired her shoes with grey track pants for a minimalist look, but the design’s adaptability extends to jeans and denim shorts. “Vans’ simplicity resonates now because it balances nostalgia with practicality,” Makar noted.

Vans’ classic slip-ons provide a familiar silhouette while maintaining ease of styling. Richie’s choice underscores the trend’s enduring appeal, blending retro aesthetics with contemporary utility. The brand’s economic performance reflects this revival, with strong demand across resale markets and online searches.
