Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Sevilla defender Joaquin Oso.

The 23‑year‑old impressed for the Andalusian club last season, prompting interest from Tottenham and Newcastle. Oso is in the final year of his contract, and Sevilla aim to extend his deal; however, his wage demands have stalled negotiations, according to Vamos Mi Sevilla.

Should a new agreement not materialise, Sevilla face the prospect of losing him on a free transfer next summer, which could force them to sell him in the next transfer window to recover some value.

Tottenham remain keen on the player, despite already having depth at left‑back in the shape of Andrew Robertson and Alex Sandro. Oso’s ability to operate as a left‑sided defender or winger would make him a viable contender for a starting berth.

A switch to the Premier League could be attractive for Oso, whose contract situation might allow a bargain‑price move and make him an appealing option for most clubs. Newcastle are also linked, but the presence of Lewis Hall reduces his immediate chances of regular play.

Spanish clubs are also monitoring his situation closely, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham, Newcastle or a La Liga side will secure his signature when the window opens.
