Bitcoin’s rally is driving up the value of Strategy’s holdings
On September 14‑20, Strategy acquired 950 Bitcoin for $75.7 million, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 846,000 coins, purchased at an aggregate cost of $63.8 billion (approximately $75,416 per coin).
Because the majority of Strategy’s valuation derives from its cryptocurrency holdings, its stock price tends to follow Bitcoin’s price movements, amplified by the leverage embedded in its business model.
Multiple factors are driving Bitcoin’s recent gains
The Clarity Act, which aimed to establish a clearer regulatory framework for the cryptocurrency industry, failed to pass, contrary to expectations.
In response, the SEC and CFTC are developing rules for digital assets to reduce regulatory uncertainty for investors and the broader crypto market.
Analysts, including Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan, say the “crypto winter” has ended, ushering in a “crypto spring” that could fuel the strongest and longest‑running bull market in crypto history, driven by increased digital transactions and institutional adoption.
Greater regulatory clarity may encourage professional investors to allocate more capital to crypto, potentially boosting Bitcoin’s price and, consequently, Strategy’s share price.
