Sussex have secured the services of South African fast bowler Keith Dudgeon on a two-year contract.

The 30-year-old contributed 42 wickets during Kent’s successful promotion-winning County Championship Division Two campaign in 2026.

“He is exactly the calibre of player and individual we needed to help us continue growing and competing in Division One of the County Championship, while aiming for the knockout stages of the Blast,” Sussex director of cricket Paul Farbrace said on the club website.

“Keith’s high standard of skill, experience and winning attitude is exactly what this squad requires at this moment.”

Throughout his career, Dudgeon has claimed 281 first-class wickets at an average of 26.96.

Dudgeon commented: “County cricket has been my target for a while now and I am thankful for the confidence placed in me by Sussex.

“From everything I have been told, there is a fantastic group of players in the dressing room and I look forward to joining them, bringing positive energy and contributing to the team in whatever way I can.”
