Taylor Farms has initiated a recall of ready‑to‑eat prepared foods that contain jalapenos due to potential Salmonella contamination. The affected items, such as guacamole, salsa, and pico de gallo, were distributed to major retailers including Walmart, Kroger, Target, and Whole Foods. This recall follows a recent recall of lettuce linked to a Cyclospora outbreak earlier this month.

In a press release dated Sunday, Taylor Farms announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are investigating a Salmonella outbreak linked to a farm supplying its jalapenos—Coast Citrus Distributors in Sinaloa, Mexico.
The company stated that it will cease sourcing produce from that farm and will source future orders from alternative suppliers.
