Tesla has officially introduced the Model Y Long Wheelbase to the U.S. and Puerto Rico, opening the door for orders just a year after its launch in China. The vehicle sits on a six‑inch extended wheelbase, enabling a three‑row, six‑seat layout that includes heated front seats and touchscreen displays for the first and second rows. Despite housing a third row, the rear trunk still accommodates both a 28‑inch and a 20‑inch suitcase, and the front trunk (frunk) provides space for an additional 20‑inch bag.
The second and third rows feature one‑touch folding, with the second row offering powered armrests and the third row providing power‑reclining seats. Side airbags are specifically tuned for these rows, and each seat is equipped with either 50‑W charging pads or conventional charging ports.
With an EPA‑rated 325‑mile range—just two miles below the non‑Long Wheelbase Premium model—the Y Long Wheelbase accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Buyers receive a complimentary 12‑month subscription to Supervised Full Self‑Driving, followed by a $99 monthly fee for future driver assistance. Free access to Supercharging is also included for the first year.
Priced at a base of $61,990, the Long Wheelbase sits roughly $22,000 above the entry‑level Model Y and $12,000 above the Premium variant without the extended wheelbase. Deliveries are scheduled to start between September and October of this year.
