Train Carriage Derails Near Khanewal Station
TOBA TEK SINGH: A carriage of the Lahore-Karachi 28-DN Shalimar Express derailed on Sunday near the outer signal of the Khanewal junction railway station.
Initial reports suggest a technical malfunction in the wheels caused the derailment. Railway authorities have launched a formal inquiry to determine the exact cause of the incident.
Due to the train’s low speed at the time of the incident, no injuries were reported in the affected compartment. The train resumed its journey following necessary repairs.
In a separate incident, an 8-year-old girl, identified as Anam Dildar, was killed after being struck by a speeding van in the Kot Shakir area of Athara Hazari, Jhang, on Sunday.
Rescuers reported that the child was crossing the road when the accident occurred, resulting in fatal injuries.
Additionally, a man sustained a fatal electric shock in Nankana Sahib near Dhollar Chowk. According to Rescue 1122, 38-year-old Murtaza Ali died instantly after making contact with a live wire while attempting to operate an electric air cooler.
