Former President Donald Trump has circulated an AI-generated video portraying himself as a physician diagnosing prominent Hollywood figures with “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” a term he frequently uses to characterize his opponents. The video mimics the format of a pharmaceutical advertisement, featuring fabricated testimonials from outspoken critics including Julia Roberts, Robert De Niro, Rosie O’Donnell, Whoopi Goldberg, John Leguizamo, and Edward Norton.
In the parody, Trump’s digital persona prescribes a “treatment plan” for the alleged condition, advising viewers to “turn off fake news,” “say your prayers,” and consume Diet Coke to alleviate anxiety. The clip includes AI-generated quotes from the celebrities, such as a simulated O’Donnell stating, “I was starting to worry about my future” and De Niro lamenting, “I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t sleep, constantly angry.”

This follows Trump’s history of using inflammatory rhetoric against his critics. After the deaths of director Rob Reiner and his wife, he publicly blamed their passing on the filmmaker’s “massive, unyielding and incurable affliction” with the same fabricated syndrome. The former president has increasingly relied on AI-generated content, including a controversial video earlier this year that digitally altered former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama into apes, which drew backlash from figures like Goldberg, who emphasized, “hippos will kill you faster than a lion in the wild.”
