President Donald Trump has offered the White House press secretary position to UFC President and CEO Dana White, following the departure of Katie Zacharia in October.

“I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Saturday. “I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our Country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris. We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

It remains unclear whether White has accepted the offer or the extent of Trump’s seriousness regarding the nomination. The development follows recent speculation about the role; last week, Trump entertained the idea of musician Nicki Minaj for the position during an interview, remarking, “That’s a good idea. I think I’ll have to think about that… How about you? You’d be pretty good, too.”

Zacharia’s tenure lasted only five days before her dismissal, marking the shortest in White House history. She succeeded Karoline Leavitt, who held the post from January 20, 2025, until August 27. Leavitt, the youngest person to serve in the role at age 27, subsequently joined Fox News Channel as a contributor.

The UFC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
