NEW YORK — The U.S. announced tariffs on 60 countries on Thursday, reinstating key components of former President Donald Trump’s trade agenda following previous legal challenges. The measures impose a 12.5% duty on imports from trade partners such as China and Japan, while nations including India, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Cambodia will face a 10% tariff. The policy aims to address trade imbalances and strengthen domestic manufacturing sectors.
