U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephone conversation with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani to address pressing regional security matters and explore opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation. During the call, Secretary Rubio emphasized the critical importance of fostering inclusive governance that ensures the full integration and representation of all of Syria’s minority communities. He also commended Syria’s continued collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), recognizing these efforts as vital to maintaining transparency and accountability in nuclear affairs.
