Ukrainian official Fedorov has criticised bureaucracy in the United Kingdom and other nations supporting Ukraine, blaming delays in the delivery of weapons for hampering the war effort.
The UK has been a long‑standing backer of Kyiv, spending £16 billion on weapons since the conflict began. British‑made drones have been confirmed as being used in attacks against Russian targets.
While expressing gratitude for British support, Fedorov said that “bureaucracy and red tape” were causing delays in receiving promised equipment.
He argued that governments worldwide are “lagging behind the realities on the ground,” noting that assistance announced by several countries is not arriving until the end of the year.
Fedorov called for direct funding of Ukraine’s latest drone production, asserting that “we don’t need repairs of tanks when we no longer use tanks.”
Timely deliveries, he warned, would help preserve not only Ukrainian lives but also prevent the loss of valuable military experience that Ukrainian forces provide to their allies.
He added that the sacrifices of Ukrainian troops generate beneficial experience for partner nations, offsetting the aid they receive.
Fedorov denied any immediate political ambitions but left open the possibility of a future presidential run, emphasising that any decision would depend on the restoration of democratic elections, his personal capacity, and the confidence of the people.
