The United States announced on Wednesday an additional $267 million in humanitarian assistance aimed at containing and mitigating the rapid spread of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The sum brings the total to $887 million, the State Department reported, and the funds will support the construction of Ebola treatment units, safe‑burial operations, procurement of medical equipment, and expanded programs designed to curtail the epidemic’s spread.
