UP Warriorz Confirm 11‑Player Core for WPL 2027 Ahead of Mini‑Auction

UP Warriorz have announced their retained player list for the 2027 Women’s Premier League on September 28. The franchise has kept a core group of 11 players while releasing six high‑profile names.

In four seasons of the WPL, UP Warriorz have not reached the final. Their best performance came in the inaugural 2023 season, finishing third on the points table and qualifying for the playoffs. In 2026 the side was led by former Australian captain Meg Lanning, but they finished the campaign in fifth place.

The retained overseas contingent includes Lanning, Australian batter Phoebe Litchfield, English left‑arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone and USA left‑arm seamer Tara Norris. Leading the Indian retentions is all‑rounder Deepti Sharma, supported by Harleen Deol, Kranti Gaud, Shikha Pandey and Pratika Rawal.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has scheduled the fifth edition of the tournament from 14 January to 7 February 2027. A mini‑auction will take place on 28 October 2026 at the Grand Hyatt in Kochi.
