Analysts outlined several strategies to counter Beijing’s growing prowess, including expanding the Silicon Shield to exclude China from semiconductor supply chains and other critical technologies such as drones, sharply reducing U.S. bureaucracy, increasing investment in emerging fields like quantum technology, and confronting China’s assertive push to set global standards.
“China is a systemic rival. It seeks to challenge and displace the United States as the guarantor of the American‑led post‑war order, pursuing its agenda on multiple fronts,”охожие Piero Tozzi, senior China director at the American First Policy Institute, told lawmakers.
“We see them attempting to set standards in technology, especially in telecommunications, and even redefining standards around human rights,” Tozzi added.
