U.S. Vice President JD Vance asserted that the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein maintained undisclosed connections to Israeli intelligence services.

During a comprehensive interview with podcaster Joe Rogan, released on Wednesday, Vance was questioned regarding speculation that Epstein may have been associated with Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency.

“He explicitly possessed ties to the upper echelons of U.S. intelligence and to the highest tiers of Israeli intelligence,” he remarked.

Vance further asserted that Epstein’s alleged affiliations in Israel were associated with a left‑of‑centre ideological orientation.

In the same conversation, Vance acknowledged that the Trump administration “absolutely” mishandled communications related to the Epstein files.

Vance centered his remarks on former Attorney General Pam Bondi, who had indicated that a purported client list belonging to Epstein was “on my desk at this moment”.

During Bondi’s tenure — until her dismissal by Trump in April — the Justice Department additionally distributed binders to conservative commentators and influencers, branded “The Epstein Files: Phase 1” and “Declassified”.

“I know Pam. I like Pam. I do not believe there was any malicious intent,” Vance told Rogan. “I think she was attempting to address the prevailing political climate and, in doing so, overstated the evidence both present and absent.”

Vance noted that Bondi faced public criticism for her statements, which he said contributed to broader mistrust of the administration’s transparency regarding the Epstein files.

“We unequivocally mishandled the communications surrounding the Epstein files,” he admitted. “However, I do not believe the errors stemmed from an intention to conceal information.”
