Inclement weather has forced the cancellation of the final round at the 2026 Butterfield Bermuda Championship, the PGA Tour announced Sunday evening. After initially scrubbing Sunday’s play because of high winds and hoping to resume on Monday, officials determined that the forecast does not allow play on Monday either.

Austin Smotherman and Seamus Power, tied at 16 under par, will meet in a sudden-death playoff Monday morning to determine the winner. The playoff is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. ET, weather permitting.

Smotherman is seeking his second win of the FedEx Cup Fall season. He captured his first PGA Tour title at the Bank of Utah Championship a few weeks ago. Power is a two-time PGA Tour winner whose most recent victory came in Bermuda in 2022.

With one round remaining, play was originally scheduled to begin early Sunday morning, with threesomes starting from split tees at 6:45 a.m. ET despite a forecast of steady rain showers and wind.

As the start time neared on Sunday, tee times were postponed one hour to a 7:45 a.m. ET start, with the final group slated to tee off at 9:46 a.m. ET. Shortly after that update, the Tour canceled the day’s play due to diminishing conditions and extremely high winds.

The PGA Tour had hoped to find a break in the weather, but the unfavorable forecast means only two golfers will tee off Monday to decide the champion. The remaining players will either head home or travel to Mexico for next week’s VidantaWorld Mexico Open.
