West Indies have made a single change to the squad that reached the Women’s T20 World Cup semi-finals, with all-rounder Realeanna Grimmond replacing the injured Chinelle Henry for the upcoming three-match ODI series in Ireland.

Henry, who served as vice-captain during the T20 World Cup, was in strong form with the bat, scoring 92 runs at a strike rate of 131.42 — the highest among West Indies batters — while also claiming three wickets at an economy rate of 8.87.

Grimmond, 19, brings five ODI caps to the side, most recently featuring against Australia in Basseterre in April. She made an immediate impact on debut against England in June 2024, scoring a half-century, and has accumulated 93 runs at an average of 18.60 in the format.

The series marks the third round of West Indies’ campaign in the 2025–29 ICC Women’s Championship. Having lost their opening two series — 2–1 to Sri Lanka and 3–0 to Australia, both at home — the Caribbean side sits under pressure to collect points. Only the top eight of the 11 competing nations will earn direct qualification for the 2029 ODI World Cup.

“Ireland will be a tough opponent in their conditions, and we need to adapt fast and make sure we play some good cricket,” head coach Shane Deitz said. “These are valuable points for qualification for the next ODI World Cup, and this series and the next few series over the next six to eight months are really important for us to get some wins on the board and make sure we’re in contention.”

All three matches will be played at Bready on July 10, 12, and 15.
