Last month, the United States and Paraguay co-hosted the Countering Transnational Terrorism Forum to strengthen law enforcement collaboration among partners across the hemisphere aimed at disrupting Iranian terrorist activity in the region. This effort reflects the Trump Administration’s continued commitment to reinforcing collective resolve to protect the safety and security of the Western Hemisphere.
On 5 October, the undersigned nations condemned terrorist actions and other malign influence operations carried out in our hemisphere by Iran and its proxies. These hostile activities encompass a broad range of Iranian- and proxy-sponsored lethal plotting, illicit fundraising, political interference and foreign influence campaigns, and operations designed to bolster terrorist networks, coerce perceived adversaries, compromise legal and administrative processes, and undermine regional security. We stand united in our determination to shield our countries and our people from these threats. The Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies must cease these actions immediately.
We commend the efforts of nations within our region to counter these malign Iranian activities, including lethal plotting. Together, we are resolved to take further measures to halt them and pledge to deepen our coordination and cooperation in addressing this threat.
The Governments of the United States of America, Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, and Trinidad and Tobago.
