Day 8 of the 2026 Wimbledon Championships wrapped up at the All England Club, with curfew forcing an early finish on Centre Court.
In the men’s draw, British wildcard Arthur Fery battled through a five-set epic against Grigor Dimitrov to secure his spot in the Wimbledon quarterfinals. He became the first British wildcard, male or female, to reach the last eight of a Grand Slam event during the Open era.
Also advancing to the quarterfinals, Taylor Fritz (6) and Flavio Cobolli (9), while Alexander Zverev (2) held a two-set advantage when curfew halted proceedings.
In the women’s draw, Linda Nosková (9), Marta Kostyuk (12), Jasmine Paolini (13) and Elise Mertens (25) all secured quarterfinal berths.
