Patrick Holland Named CEO and Executive Chair of Integrated Banijay U.K.
Patrick Holland has been officially appointed to continue leading the merged and expanded United Kingdom operation of Banijay Entertainment as executive chairman and chief executive officer of Banijay U.K., the firm announced on Thursday.
Reporting to Banijay Entertainment CEO Marco Bassetti, Holland “strategically leads most of the combined UK portfolio—Banijay U.K., comprising around forty creative brands,” the firm noted. “The business creates many of the nation’s most renowned new and ongoing titles, partners with every major broadcaster, streamer and platform, and generates over 2,000 hours of content annually.”
Holland joined Banijay U.K. in May 2022 after serving as director of factual, arts and classical music at the BBC, when he also held the role of channel controller of BBC Two since 2017. He “has delivered continuous year‑over‑year growth, guiding a slate of high‑profile, award‑winning projects,” the company highlighted. Recent series and film releases include Half Man(BBC/HBO), House of Guinness(Netflix), Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man(Netflix) and Last One Laughing (Prime Video). Upcoming slates feature All or Nothing(Prime Video), Beautiful Obsession (Prime Video), Netflix, Will You Marry Me? (Netflix) and Reputation (BBC).
“During his tenure, Holland has strategically restructured the UK division as the sector navigates seismic shifts in demand, technology and funding, investing in talent, scaling the streaming business and exploring new growth avenues,” Banijay announced.
Alongside M&A activity, notably the acquisitions of The Forge in 2023 and Garrison Drama in 2024, the scripted side has grown organically.
Bassetti on Thursday praised the expansive portfolio that remains robust, especially due to All3Media’s producers entering the UK market, adding: “We are confident we can sustain a solid growth path.”
Regarding his appointment, Bassetti said: “By strengthening our global talent pool we have secured a market‑leading presence across much of our footprint. Prioritising local leaders has long been a strategic priority, and in the UK we are proud to name Patrick as our next chief leader.”
Said Holland: “Working under Jane Turton [who is now deputy CEO of Banijay Entertainment] and Sara Geater, All3 has become a powerful creative and commercial force; having an invitation to lead the combined business is a true privilege. Innovation, collaboration and backing talent are the pillars underpinning the UK’s growth and creative success. The breadth and depth of phenomenal talent across All3 and Banijay U.K. inspire us, and I look forward to unlocking the full potential of this unified business.”
