Speed limitations on a U.S. military-grade satellite communications system are impeding Ukrainian forces’ capacity to coordinate drone attacks against Russian positions, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Monday. According to Zelensky, frontline units have reported that Starshield equipment ceases to operate effectively at speeds between 130-160 kilometers per hour (80-100 miles per hour) in different sectors along the front lines. Separately, a Ukrainian army brigade announced what it described as the first successful battlefield rescue of a wounded soldier using an aerial drone. The brigade released footage showing the drone descending to the ground, where a soldier in combat gear attaches to a winch mechanism and is subsequently lifted to safety.
