Zimbabwe police state they have received no official communication from UK authorities concerning triple murder suspect Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma.
The 45‑year‑old is sought in connection with the killings of his wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, aged 42, and their daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5, whose bodies were discovered at the family residence near Bedford on Monday.
Zimbabwean citizen Tshuma, also identified as Mark, departed the country through Heathrow Airport on a British passport on Saturday.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police noted that while officers have observed social media posts and media coverage, they have not yet received any formal communication from Interpol or UK police.
In response, Bedfordshire Police commented: “This is a rapidly evolving investigation, and we are pursuing multiple lines of inquiry.”
“We are currently collaborating closely with the National Crime Agency to exchange information with international law‑enforcement partners.”
Zimbabwe Republic Police spokesperson Paul Nyathi informed the BBC that officers could not confirm whether Tshuma had entered the country, but emphasized they are prepared to arrest him if located and remain on high alert at border crossings.
“We have not yet received an Interpol red notice, and we are still awaiting that communication,” Nyathi stated.
“Nevertheless, we remain on alert, closely monitoring the situation and prepared to arrest him.”
“If Tshuma is in Zimbabwe, he should turn himself in to the police. Please surrender so that legal proceedings can proceed according to the allegations coming from the UK.”
