As one of the most cherished anime series of all time, Attack on Titan continues to captivate audiences, even years after its conclusion. The dark‑fantasy show, which debuted on April 7, 2013 and concluded its four‑season run on November 5, 2023, holds a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes and is widely hailed as one of the greatest anime of all time. Today, the franchise is gearing up for a resurgence thanks to a new offering from Koei Tecmo, billed as the ultimate culmination of the saga.
Last month, Koei Tecmo unveiled the newest Attack on Titan video game at the Summer Game Fest 2026 showcase, marking the third installment in its series of adaptations. Titled Attack on Titan 3, the game aims to encompass the full manga narrative, a departure from its two predecessors — released by Koei Tecmo and Omega Force in 2016 and 2018 — which only covered portions of the story. In advance of launch, the publisher has disclosed additional gameplay details, a release window, and the supported platforms.
That said, Attack on Titan 3 is slated for a winter 2026 release on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Although an exact date remains pending, the window gives fans a clear expectation. A fresh gameplay trailer has also debuted, offering a look at the title’s features. The three‑minute clip highlights character customization, horseback riding, and battles against massive Titans, alongside squad member appearances, weapon load‑out options, and cooking mechanics. Be sure to watch the first‑look trailer below.
What to Know About the New Attack on Titan Game
Although Attack on Titan 3 does not continue directly from where Attack on Titan 2 left off, it introduces an open‑world mode that lets players roam the game world freely. Like its predecessors, the title retains a central story driven by mission‑based gameplay. The signature ODM system — allowing players to zip around with grappling wires — has been refined for smoother movement. This final chapter will have players join the Scout Regiment, letting them experience key anime events alongside characters from Attack on Titan. Rather than controlling an established hero such as Eren Yeager, users will create an original character who fights beside the main cast. Furthermore, the game debuts the Nine Titans as boss encounters, presenting a fresh challenge.
Attack on Titan 3 is set to launch this winter. For pricing information and an exact release date, keep an eye on Collider.
