Toss Australia chose to bowl vs Bangladesh
Australia captain Tahlia McGrath won the toss and, like the opening game, had no hesitation in bowling first in the second ODI against Bangladesh.
Both teams took to the field with unchanged lineups under bright and sunny conditions in Brisbane.
Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana had no objections to batting first and indicated that was her preferred option regardless. “We wanted to bat because we really wanted to test ourselves in the middle as a batting unit,” she said at the toss. “We talked yesterday about what we could have done better in the first game, so we really wanted to reflect on that.
“I guess we really have to be very intense during our batting, and definitely we don’t want to lose early wickets in the powerplay.”
Bangladesh were bowled out for 166 in the first ODI, with Annabel Sutherland claiming four wickets. In reply, Phoebe Litchfield dominated the contest with a 57-ball 77 as Australia secured victory with 146 balls to spare.
Australia lead the three-match series 1-0, and a win here would give them an unassailable advantage.
