Martin has previously noted that the criticism he faces has felt increasingly personal.
On Saturday, he acknowledged that the jeers, boos, and calls for his dismissal are an occupational hazard following another damaging loss.
“The chants are what they are; we must keep our heads down and work hard,” he said.
“I have to accept the personal criticism, as I am ultimately responsible for the team,” he added.
He also defended himself, saying, “I share their frustration, but I do not believe sacking a manager is a quick fix.”
His 40-year-old preference for a possession‑based, heavy‑passing style, often criticised when results slip, once again dominated post‑match discussion.
However, he shifted focus to his players, calling for a more aggressive performance.
“At some point you must weather the storm and endure the hardships of a football match,” he said.
“Perhaps for five or ten minutes we should be ugly, horrible, and fight. Right now, when we need to suffer, we do not look like a cohesive unit.”
