Charli XCX brought out Tinashe as a special guest during her headlining set at the Austin City Limits Music Festival on October 10. As part of a two-song performance, Tinashe debuted live versions of “Nobody Wanna Dance Anymore” and “Melatonin.”
Both artists have had lengthy journeys to the festival’s main stage. Their collaboration traces back to 2015, when they appeared together on Ty Dolla $ign’s “Drop That Kitty.” Charli is currently touring in support of her album Music, Fashion, Film, with North American dates concluding alongside Underscores at month’s end, followed by European and UK shows with Audrey Hobert. Meanwhile, Tinashe kicks off her own Popstar tour tonight, October 11, at the Arizona festival FORM Arcosanti.
Austin City Limits wraps its second weekend today, featuring performances from Geese, the xx, Blood Orange, the War on Drugs, and more. The festival is marking its 25th anniversary this year.
Details for the Music, Fashion, Film tour are covered in Shaad D’Souza’s feature The Life of the Party: A Week on Tour With Charli XCX.
