Denver Broncos Anticipate Re-Signing Safety Taylor Rapp

The Denver Broncos signed veteran safety Taylor Rapp on August 20 and later released him on Wednesday.

Despite the release, Rapp is expected to rejoin the team in the future, head coach Sean Payton confirmed.

Payton explained that Rapp requires some time at home to address personal matters, but there is a strong likelihood of his re-signing with the Broncos. “I believe how he felt about being here, and I think that opportunity will present itself sooner rather than later,” Payton stated during a team video address.

Rapp, 28, spent the last three seasons with the Buffalo Bills before being released in March following a 2023 campaign limited to six games due to a knee injury. Drafted in the second round by the Los Angeles Rams in 2019, the safety has appeared in 93 career games with 72 starts, recording 12 interceptions and 31 passes defensed.
