Israeli authorities on Saturday informed 47 Palestinian families in the northern occupied West Bank that they must vacate their homes by Sunday evening, following a 27‑day blockade, Anadolu reports.
Hassan Mleihat, head of the Palestinian rights organization Al‑Baydar, told Anadolu that the families now face an uncertain future after weeks of road closures have isolated the Ras al‑Ahmar community, located southeast of Tubas.
He added that the eviction order has intensified residents’ fears about their ability to stay on their land and sustain their livelihoods.
Mleihat urged rights groups, humanitarian agencies, and international bodies to intervene promptly to safeguard the residents, protect their property, and lift the blockade.
The Israeli army sealed off the final access route to Ras al‑Ahmar in September, after previously blocking other dirt roads that led to the community.
Resident Thaer Bisharat told Anadolu that movement restrictions have worsened over the past three years, reaching a breaking point when Israeli forces excavated a trench across the community’s last remaining entryway.
He explained that the action has effectively encircled the community with trenches, walls, and designated military zones.
Since October 2023, Israeli forces have carried out more than 14,742 attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of 66 Palestinians, according to the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission.
