Liverpool are interested in signing UD Almeria’s Sergio Arribas during the summer transfer window.
The 24‑year‑old has been exceptional for the Spanish club, scoring 26 goals across all competitions and providing seven assists in the second division of Spanish football last season.
He can operate on either flank or centrally, and his outstanding finishing and technical ability to create opportunities for teammates make him an attractive proposition for multiple clubs.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can complete the deal, as per reports, they have entered the race to acquire his signature, and the former Real Madrid player is expected to move this summer.
It is clear that Liverpool need additional quality in their attacking unit, with Hugo Ekitike sidelined for most of the forthcoming campaign and a greater attacking depth required; they cannot rely solely on Alexander Isak.
They will compete in both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, and a deeper squad is needed to rotate players and maintain fitness for key contributors.
Arribas might be attracted to joining Liverpool, a move that would represent a significant step up in his career, allowing him to play for one of the world’s biggest clubs and showcase his qualities in the Premier League while fighting for major trophies.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will follow up with an official proposal; while UD Almeria may not want to lose the player easily, they could be powerless to prevent his departure if a top club offers a lucrative deal.
