Liverpool’s bid for RB Leipzig’s 19‑year‑old winger Yan Diomande has been rejected.
The English side had tabled a €100 million package this summer, but the German club is holding out for a higher fee.
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg says Liverpool will return with an improved offer shortly, confident that personal terms with Diomande can be settled quickly.
Diomande, regarded as one of the world’s most promising young attackers, has contributed 23 goals and assists across all competitions in the Bundesliga. His impact is expected to grow at a club with greater creative resources.
Liverpool, eager to add quality on the flanks, view the African winger as a potential game‑changer. His ability to carry the ball, beat defenders one‑on‑one and create chances would add variety to an attack that lacked unpredictability last season.
The Reds have already signed Victor Muñoz to increase pace and flair in the final third, and Diomande could further elevate their offensive options.
For Diomande, a move to Liverpool would represent a significant step up, with regular Premier League exposure poised to accelerate his development.
