CAIRO, Aug 23 (Reuters) — Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir is scheduled to visit Tehran on Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed Sunday. Baghaei said the trip builds on Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to promote regional peace and security. Islamabad has recently stepped in as a mediator in negotiations between Iran and the United States aimed at resolving their conflict.
