Seattle Seahawks rookie safety Bud Clark will be sidelined for several months after suffering a fractured right ankle in Sunday night’s preseason loss to the Titans.
Head coach Mike Macdonald confirmed the severity of the injury following the 19‑16 defeat in Nashville. Clark, a second‑round pick by the defending Super Bowl champions, was hurt on the team’s first defensive snap and had to be carted off with his leg in an air cast.
Backup offensive lineman Mason Richman also sustained a significant injury. The second‑year guard walked off the field unaided after being hurt on the opening drive.
“We lose two players who embody our style, who are beloved teammates and promising talents,” Macdonald said. “It’s genuinely heartbreaking. This week we’ve faced three such setbacks, which is difficult.”
The Seahawks also lost wide receiver Jake Bobo to a season‑ending knee injury during Friday’s joint practice with the Titans.
Clark, 24, was the 64th overall pick in the 2026 draft after a standout career at TCU, where he recorded 15 interceptions in 61 games.
Richman, 24, was selected in the seventh round of the 2025 draft out of Iowa. As a rookie with Seattle, he appeared in two games, logging 11 of his 12 snaps on special teams.
