Tragic Road Accident Claims Lives of Four Family Members in Kaghan Valley

MANSEHRA: A car traveling through the Paras area of Kaghan Valley plunged into a ravine, resulting in four fatalities, including two women, and leaving one family member injured.

Police spokesperson SHO Abbas Shah informed reporters that the vehicle carried five individuals from Punjab who were en route to Naran, the commercial hub of Kaghan Valley. While navigating a sharp turn near Paras, the driver lost control, causing the car to skid off the Mansehra‑Naran‑Jalkhad Road and fall into a deep ravine.

Rescue personnel from the local police and Rescue 1122 quickly reached the site, retrieving the bodies and providing urgent care to the injured before transporting them for further treatment.

The injured passenger, identified as Tanveer Khurram, was taken to the Rural Health Centre in Kawai and later transferred to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital in Mansehra due to the severity of his condition.

Police identified the deceased as Shamroz Sajid, Saman Shehbaz, Shanza Ashfaq, and the driver, Judain Sohail, who hailed from Lahore.

SHO Shah noted that the vehicle halted only inches from the Kunhar River, averting an even greater disaster.

“We have repeatedly urged tourists to exercise extreme caution while driving on the roads in hilly areas such as Kaghan Valley,” he added.

In an unrelated incident, a young man named Muzzammil suffered injuries after a black bear attacked him in the Hangrai Narian area of Balakot. He was transferred to Civil Hospital, Balakot, where emergency medical staff rendered immediate treatment.

Muzzammil explained that he had taken his herd to graze in a nearby forest when the bear encountered him.
