Following Monday night’s WWE Raw episode in St. Louis, a new championship bout has been added to the WWE Money in the Bank card.
Stephanie Vaquer is set to defend her WWE Women’s World Championship against Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan in a Triple Threat contest scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at the Money in the Bank event in New Orleans.
Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan originally faced off in the main event of that Raw episode to decide who would challenge Vaquer for the title at the premium‑live event.
The bout saw interference from Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, which drew Vaquer into the fray. After Lynch accidentally hit Vaquer with a forearm, the champion entered the ring and attacked both competitors, leading officials to declare the match a no‑contest.
After the match, Vaquer confronted Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, requesting a defense of her title against both Lynch and Morgan at Money in the Bank. Pearce approved the request and formally announced the Triple Threat matchup.
This contest continues a rivalry that originated when Vaquer captured the Women’s World Championship by defeating Liv Morgan at a WWE live event in Santiago, Chile, on September 12.
Lynch acted as the special guest referee for that encounter. When Morgan hit Oblivion and covered Vaquer, Lynch halted her count at two, prompting Morgan to challenge Lynch and allowing Vaquer to pin Morgan and win the championship.
Since losing the title, Morgan has pursued another chance at the championship, and Lynch aimed to earn a title shot by winning Monday’s No. 1 Contender’s match.
Instead, both competitors will now get that opportunity as Vaquer puts her title on the line in New Orleans.
WWE Money in the Bank will be held this Saturday, October 10, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
