President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday night that he has no intention of pressuring Iran into accepting a peace agreement, amid escalating tensions following a new round of U.S. military strikes inside Iran.

In a post on Truth Social, President Trump dismissed recent reports suggesting he sought to push Iran into negotiations, writing: “I’m not trying to force Iran to the bargaining table.” He went on to say, “I couldn’t care less” whether Iran agrees to what he described as a “worthless” deal.
Trump reiterated his assertion of having “almost total control” over the strategic Strait of Hormuz, and once again characterized Iran’s economy as being in a state of collapse. His message concluded with a call for the Iranian people to “rise up and fight” against their own government — without explicitly endorsing regime change.
What Do We Know About The Latest Strike On Iran?
The U.S. military carried out another wave of airstrikes targeting multiple sites across Iran on Tuesday, as part of an intensifying cycle of retaliatory actions. According to a statement from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the operation focused on Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) infrastructure, including air defense positions, radar installations, naval assets, mine-laying capabilities, and communications hubs.
CENTCOM confirmed that these strikes were a direct response to recent IRGC attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing threats against American military installations in the region.
What Had Trump Said Before The Strikes?
Prior to the latest raids, President Trump took to Truth Social to announce the military action, framing it as retaliation for what he called Iran’s failed attempt to lay naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz — despite CENTCOM acknowledging there were none present at the time. He also cited Tehran’s missile strikes on U.S. bases in Jordan as justification.
Trump warned that any further escalation by Iran would prompt even harsher responses, stating, “They better not respond… because we have the biggest attack of them all waiting.” He added that continued conflict could leave “very little” of the Islamic Republic intact.
Impact On Global Markets
The renewed hostilities have sent oil prices climbing once again this week. By early Wednesday, Brent Crude futures had reached $95.34 per barrel, up sharply from approximately $88 just days earlier.
