The Golden State Warriors may look to pivot toward a more urgent strategy sooner than expected.
While LeBron James remains beyond the Warriors’ reach, ESPN’s Shams Charania has identified the Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Miami Heat as the leading suitors for the 22‑time All‑Star.
Although the Warriors might contemplate an ambitious move to pair a high-caliber co‑star with Stephen Curry, Charania indicated that the Washington Wizards’ price tag for Davis would be steep.
כםAccording to Charania, acquiring Davis would require the Warriors to part with Jimmy Butler, several first‑round picks, swap rights, andjani multiple second‑round selections.
Such a move would risk mortgaging the team’s future for a player whose durability is uncertain, potentially sidelining him for significant periods.
In short, Davis remains a Hall‑of‑Fame talent, yet at this stage of his career the Warriors’ willingness to pay an enormous price and expose themselves to health risks may not be justified.
