Marina Mabrey and Angel Reese are among the 12 reserves named to this month’s WNBA All‑Star Game, highlighted by a mix of first‑time selections and seasoned veterans.
Mabrey, a 29‑year‑old guard for the expansion Toronto Tempo, earned her first All‑Star nod after a standout season that included a league‑tied 53‑point performance and a career‑high 21.1 points per game average. She also leads the league with 67 three‑pointers, shooting 39.9% from deep, and adds 3.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
Reese, now in her third season with the Atlanta Dream, received her third All‑Star selection. The forward is posting a career‑best 14.9 points per game while leading the league with 11.8 rebounds per game.
Other notable reserves include first‑time All‑Star Dominique Malonga, a 20‑year‑old forward for Seattle who averages 15.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, and veteran Nneka Ogwumike, who earned her 11th All‑Star nod, tying Diana Taurasi for the second‑most selections in league history. Ogwumike is averaging 16.1 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists with the Los Angeles Sparks.
The backcourt reserves were announced as Sonia Citron (Washington), Allisha Gray (Atlanta), Rhyne Howard (Atlanta), Marina Mabrey (Toronto), Kelsey Plum (Los Angeles), Courtney Williams (Minnesota) and Jackie Young (Las Vegas). The frontcourt reserves include Kiki Iriafen (Washington), Jonquel Jones (New York), Dominique Malonga (Seattle), Nneka Ogwumike (Los Angeles) and Angel Reese (Atlanta).
