The electronic folk duo @ has continued to ascend the indie music landscape without being hindered by search‑engine optimization. Vocalist Victoria Rose and multi‑instrumentalist Stone Filipczak are preparing to release their first full‑length album, Autosmile, on the storied 4AD label in October. The record follows the 2021 debut Mind Palace Music and the 2024 EP Are You There, God? It’s Me, @.
The title track, “Autosmile,” arrives today paired with a video directed by Sophia Feuer and Tyler Macri. This minimal, atmospheric ballad underscores the duo’s compelling vocal harmonies and acoustic guitar work, even with electronic elements playing second fiddle. Listeners are likely to find themselves replaying the wistful chorus: “I don’t know how I belong to you but I do somehow… I don’t know how I came to stand up to you but I have no doubt.”
