Speculation followed his match against Je’Von Evans, with rumors that he was displeased and left the ringside area.
The report indicates that his sudden exit stemmed from a medical issue incurred during the bout, when he landed awkwardly on his neck, causing hand numbness.
The referee asked if the match should be halted, but Rusev insisted on continuing.
As his symptoms intensified, Rusev promptly departed the ringside area, where he was thought to be placed under WWE’s concussion protocol as a precaution.
An undisclosed illness has further delayed his return, following a brief period away before he resumed training at the Performance Center.
Currently, Rusev awaits medical clearance, with a projected television return in September.
