Yaeji returns with “DDR,” a new standalone single inspired by Dance Dance Revolution, arriving via XL Recordings. Produced alongside Enayet and K Wata, the track is paired with a footwork-heavy video directed by Giseong Jun.
In the YouTube caption, Yaeji explained the concept behind the song: “I had this thought while out one night in NYC: if our current world is suffocating us, what does the reality we want to see actually look like? Maybe we’re actually experiencing a dance dance ‘revolution.’ The miracle of all our bodies on the dancefloor in the same place at the same time. We’re making sure there’s water and choosing to protect each other so no one’s getting harassed, all while on our own introspective journeys soundtracked by the music. This one is for you. It’s also for me.”
To celebrate the release, Yaeji is hosting an all-night DDR party at Paragon in Brooklyn this Friday, November 6, sharing the bill with DJ Swisha, OSSX, Lil C, and DJ Noir. “DDR,” Yaeji’s first single of 2026, follows last year’s “Pondeggi” and the Underscores and Aliyah’s Interlude collaboration “Booboo2.”
