Swedish rapper Yung Lean marked his 30th birthday during a joint performance at Electric Castle 2026 alongside Bladee. Footage from the Romanian festival is now available for viewing.
The duo performed on the festival’s Hangar stage, playing tracks from their 2024 album ‘Psykos’. During Bladee’s solo performance, he acknowledged Yung Lean’s birthday, stating: “Give it up for Yung Lean. Today is a very special day. He’s turning 30.”
When Yung Lean took the stage for his solo segment, he connected with the audience about his milestone, saying: “It’s good to be here in Romania on my birthday,” he shared. “I was born July 18, 1996. Today I turn 30. My life has been crazy and beautiful. This is insane. Thank you.”
The collaboration formed part of Electric Castle festival’s third day, which featured headliners Nothing But Thieves and Chase & Status alongside performances from British punk band Kid Kapichi, Moldova’s The Motans, and Brooklyn-based act LP.
During coverage of day two at the Banffy Castle venue, NME reported: “As Yung Lean and Bladee’s names appeared on the venue screen ahead of their performance, the crowd erupted in cheers, eager to see these pioneering Swedish rappers reunite. Their experimental cloud rap collaboration ‘I Don’t Like People’ kicked off with dramatic stage effects – bass-driven explosions of flame that seemed to shake the entire festival grounds.”
The festival run saw the pair perform material from their 2024 collaboration ‘Psykos’ and 2025 EP ‘Evil World’, along with recent solo works including Bladee’s May 2026 release ‘Sulfur Surfer’ and Lean’s ‘Jonatan’ from late 2025.
Additional highlights from the festival’s seven-day program include upcoming performances from Just Mustard, Keanu Reeves’ Dogstar, and special guests The Cure.
